We’re growing at Osano and looking for a collaborative + experienced Sr. Accounting Manager to join our team as we scale as a Series B startup! This role will work directly with our Chief Financial Officer and will support + build our Accounting team.
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in bringing our accounting function in-house to streamline processes, ensure accurate financial reporting, and lead + nurture Osano’s first audit. You will manage all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and compliance as we continue to grow our revenue growth. This role requires a deep understanding of SaaS business models + experience with a growing SaaS company, plus a strong desire to take ownership of the accounting function within a smaller organization.

Financial Operations Transition

  • Lead the transition from outsourced bookkeeping to an in-house accounting function, ensuring a smooth handover of financial data, processes, and documentation.
  • Implement best practices for accounting procedures, policies, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data for reporting purposes.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Audit Preparation and Oversight

  • Manage the company's first audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  • Prepare and organize audit documentation, schedules, and necessary support for a seamless audit experience.

Compliance, Regulations, and Process Improvement

  • Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, ensuring the company's financial practices remain compliant and aligned with best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement software tools and systems to enhance financial operations.

About You

  • You have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time spent at an audit firm and with exposure to SaaS businesses.
  • You have prior experience at a larger SaaS company and a strong desire to take ownership of the accounting function at a smaller organization. This means having a thorough understanding of SaaS revenue recognition, subscription models, and related accounting principles.
  • You have (or have had) your CPA designation.
  • You have experience managing audit processes, including interactions with external auditors.
  • You enjoy building + planning for scale. You’ve been in a fast-growing environment + have experience within a business that has expanded internationally.
  • You are proficient in accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Excel), and have an aptitude for implementing new systems.
  • You take pride in your communication and see it as a representation of your brand. You understand that clear, concise communication builds rapport and trust.
  • You are detail-oriented and set a high bar for yourself + what you accomplish. You are extremely organized and focused on keeping others informed with your projects.
  • You have demonstrated leadership abilities and a proactive attitude towards process improvement

Compensation
Depending on your skill and experience, you can expect stock options + your annual compensation to be somewhere between $135,000 and $145,000 upon joining the company.
